Happy New Year! *Update on Shipping*

Orders are currently taking up to 14 business days to ship. After a four day holiday over Christmas I am much more back logged than anticipated. The 14 days is my best guess for once the kids get back in school and I can start moving these orders out of here.

Please be patient during this holiday time. As you know I try to always ship as quickly as possible but this has been an incredible business season for me. Thanks so much!!

Achy hands are also slowing down the process a bit. I used to be able to sew 50 - 100 bows a night and now that number has shrunk. We are a crafty family but I also know I have my Mom's and Grandmom's hands and wont be able to make hair bows forever but will continue as long as I can.

It's the most wonderful time of the year....

Ok, so this year I don't really believe that but my last starts Pre-K tomorrow three days a week. Two of my kiddos have already been back to school for three weeks so the last makes it the end of the summer for us. We had a super great Labor Day weekend at the beach and what wonderful weather for the last summer splurge.

ACG is back open and ready to begin the super busy fall season. We have a few new products using beautiful Double Ruffle Ribbon coming to the store soon. I don't know what took me so long to fall in love with this super cute ribbon but I will spend some time the next few days coming up with some bow designs.

I also have DRR (double ruffle ribbon) arriving in my most favorite 5/8" size that will be perfect for the Petite Baby Bow.

Off to get a few Ebay auctions rolling! I love taking a summer break from Ebay but it is time to get things up and running full steam.

Summer is coming to and end....

Here at A Crystal Garden there is not much to report during the summer months and not much to blog about. I prepare for the busy fall by restocking all my ribbon and coming up with a couple of new products for the upcoming year. Things will start to really ramp up after our Labor Day holiday. We will be closed from August 29 - September 7 for one last summer celebration with family. Then it is back to the business of bow making!

Ebay auctions will begin again after the 7th and expect a newsletter shortly after that too. I got some really cute new ribbon in over the summer and have even more ordered.

Summer has been great fun with the kids but now it is time to get back to work!

Back open for business!!

We are open and working on orders after having a wonderful Spring Break! The kids and I went to Storybook Land, A Family Fun Center and the Zoo. I had a great time off but we stayed so busy that my house never did get that TLC I had planned for it.

The website is open and ready for orders! Already have quite a few in-house that I will begin working on tomorrow when two of the kiddos head back to school.

Spring Break coming a little early at A Crystal Garden

A Crystal Garden's website will be closed from April 1 - April 19 for a much needed Spring Break. Those of you who are asking what in the world will I be doing if I am not making hair bows?? The answer is lots!
Here is a little list:

1. Changing closets and drawers from winter to spring and summer clothes.
2. Working in the yard sprucing things up for spring
3. Playing with my kids who will be on Spring Break from the 8th - 20th
4. Visiting the Zoo
5. Cleaning out preparing for the biggest garage sale EVER!
6. Visiting the park on every nice day available
7. Reading a book
8. Playing games with my kids every time they ask.
9. I could go on and on ---but lets just say my house and my kids need some quality Mom time where I am not obsessed with the pile of ACG orders waiting to be created and shipped out.

We reopen on April 19th - there just might be a newsletter with some sales! So keep an eye out.

Thanks so much to "mom" Diana for sending in this adorable customer cutie. Once I get caught up a bit on orders this sweetie will be joining all the others on our website. I can't tell you how much I LOVE getting pictures of girls wearing ACG hair bows. It just brightens up my day. :o)

I am often asked.....

Why doesn't A Crystal Garden have sales? To be honest I price my items as low as possible to make bows affordable all the time! At many bow sites you will find little bows similar to my Petite Baby Bows selling for as much as $6 a piece. While I think that is a crazy price and myself would never pay it when I know there are those out there like myself making good quality bows for reasonable prices, there is a method to the madness. If I price my bows in that price range it allows me to have nice 30%-40% off sales every now and then and not be making bows for pennies. If I had that kind of a sale I wouldn't even be covering all my costs.

So no - I don't have sales but I do offer no shipping weekends once in awhile and during the summer I have 50% off sample sales. I have also been known to throw in a free bow based on sales amounts. Sign up for our newsletter to know when these special events occur!

Really isn't it nice to have stuff "on sale" all the time. :o)

So Sorry....

I know I have been a terrible blogger! You guys are keeping me so busy making bows (THANK YOU) that I don't have enough time to get The Pooch Patch off the ground much less make new bow designs.

There is one change at ACG to announce. As of 2009, I will no longer be predesigning bows to match Gymboree. I just can't keep up with orders and all the new lines. There will continue to be an up to date color matching guide on the site for Gymbo and I will still be happy to design custom bows to match at any time.

ACG is renovating and making a few changes.....

We are working on new products for the furry Princesses and Princes in your lives!

The button patch is still open but now under The Bow Garden heading. I will be selling these until my supplies run out. I am moving my efforts into other areas and looking forward to using my Christmas present! An embroidery/sewing machine. Ooooh the possibilities!!
